Prototype Project - Grid SHMUP

Traverse in an endless grid game killing enemies to keep alive while reaching the end goal.

Cool. This is something I could see myself playing if you could also move vertically on map with some interesting roguelike/RPG elements.

I really like your prototype !

Here his a few things I noticed during my test :

- You cannot go  both horizontally et vertically in the same time, based on the feeling I had playing, it seems to be a game with a good pace, and being able to move diagonally seems to fit that fast pace vibe.

- If you go past an ennemy, you have to go backward to shoot it. It can be interesting to be able to flip the player.

- I didn't see what happens to the player on being hurt (except the effect of course), I assume you would lose some time on the timer.

Overall I think you really have a good concept, keep up the good work !

I like the idea of the combat. It's a bit like Megaman battlenetwork!

Some ideas/suggestions I thought of while playing:

- I think it would be cool to have abilities you can unlock down the line while playing or having characters that have special abilities you play with. i.e. character might be able to preform a charge shot

- Maybe at the end you can fight a boss, and the time stops, but you take damage as time. 

- Could be neat to also introduce some blockades / obstacles that you have to dodge, or break through

- Would be nice to be able to shoot and move


Other feedback:

- Sounds are a bit loud and sharp.

It's pretty good! The effects are nice, everything seems to work pretty well.

I think the game would really benefit from input buffering though. Moving and trying to shoot right now feels "unresponsive" because the timings between moving and being able to shoot are tight if you're trying to move, shoot, mov

Hey, it is very funny to play!

  • Maybe you could had a "distance to travel" till we reach the green portal ? 
  • A score to track the number of level we beat
  • Walls so ennemies can hide ?
